Everything that can be sent can be borrowed. Photographs are taken from someone else’s website, a certificate belongs to a company with a similar name, an address is an office above a shop. None of that survives somebody standing in the building.
What you receive is a written record of what was seen, not an opinion about whether to trade. The distinction matters: a report that says what was observed can be checked, argued with and kept on file, and an opinion cannot.
This is not the audit behind a Sooqban mark. That one is performed by an accredited inspection firm against a published standard, scored, and published in full at its own address. A visit here is a private errand run for you.
At a glance
- What it is for
- Seeing a site before you commit to it
- What you receive
- A written record of what was observed, with the date it was seen
- What it is not
- The accredited audit behind a verification mark, and not an opinion on whether to trade
- Where it fits
- Usually after a counterparty check and before a first order
How it runs
- Name the site and what mattersA production line, a warehouse, a head office. What you need confirmed decides what is worth looking at.
- A visit is arrangedWith the company, at their premises. This is not a surprise inspection and is not presented as one.
- The visit is written upWhat was seen, what was not, and when. Photographs where they are permitted.
- You decide what it is worthThe report is yours. Nothing on Sooqban changes because of it. A visit is not a verification mark and does not become one.
Who this is for
- A buyer about to place a first order large enough to hurt if the factory is not what it appears.
- A company whose supplier has moved premises and is vague about where.
- Anyone whose own trip would cost more than the visit.
Questions
Who performs the visit?
That is not settled yet, and this page will name them when it is rather than imply an arrangement that does not exist. What is already fixed is what a visit produces: a written record of what was seen, dated.
Does a visit give the company a Sooqban mark?
No. A mark comes from an accredited inspection firm’s audit against a published standard, and it is published in full. A visit is a private report to whoever asked for it.
Can the visit be unannounced?
No. The visit is arranged with the company. An unannounced inspection is a different instrument with different rights behind it, and the platform does not pretend to hold those.
