The contract is the only thing you have when it goes wrong.

Sale terms, agency agreements, a dispute in a jurisdiction you have never worked in. A directory of law firms, listed against the licence that lets them practise where you need them.

Cross-border trade goes wrong in the gaps between two legal systems: which law governs, where a dispute is heard, whether a judgment can be enforced where the other party keeps its assets. Those are answered before the deal, by someone qualified in the right place.

Sooqban does not give legal advice, draft your documents, or sit between you and your lawyer. It checks that a firm is licensed to practise, in which jurisdiction, and lists it. The retainer is between you and the firm.

How it works

  1. Know the jurisdictionWhere the contract is governed and where a dispute would be heard decides which firm can actually help.
  2. Read what is licensedWhich bar or authority, which jurisdiction, and the register the check came from.
  3. Engage the firm directlySooqban is not a party to the engagement and takes no share of the fee.
  4. Keep the documents with the dealContracts and certificates attach to the record they belong to, rather than living in one person’s inbox.

Who this is for

  • An exporter signing an agency agreement in a market whose law they do not know.
  • A buyer who needs security over goods paid for in advance.
  • A company facing a dispute where the counterparty’s assets sit in another country.

Questions

Can Sooqban review my contract?

No. Reviewing a contract is legal advice, and it comes from a licensed firm rather than a marketplace.

Do you issue certificates of origin or other trade documents?

Never. Those are issued by chambers of commerce and other authorities. The platform stores and transmits documents; it does not issue or certify any of them.

Is the firm’s licence checked again later?

A listing depends on a current licence, and the check is against the authority’s register, which is where an expiry or a suspension appears.
