A request posted in the Marketplace goes to the suppliers in its category. This board is the same requests read the other way round, by sector, by market and by destination. A supplier finds a requirement they would never have been shown, and a buyer sees what is already being sourced around them.
Each entry carries what a request must state to be answerable at all: the category, the specification, the quantity and unit, the destination, the date it is needed, and the Incoterm it is quoted against. A request without those is not an opportunity; it is a message.
At a glance
- What it is
- Open requests for quotation, in one board, read by sector and market
- What an entry states
- Category, specification, quantity, destination, required date, Incoterm
- Who may answer
- A verified supplier in the category. Answering is gated on verification, reading is not
- What it never shows
- The buyer’s identity before they open a conversation
How it works
- Read by sector and marketThe board is filtered the way a supplier thinks: what they make, and where they can ship it.
- Open the requestThe specification in full, with the quantity, the destination and the date it has to arrive.
- Answer with a structured quoteUnit price, currency, quantity basis, minimum order, lead time, Incoterm and named place, validity. The fields that make quotes comparable.
- The buyer comparesSide by side, with any conversion shown against the supplier’s own figures rather than replacing them.
Who this is for
- A supplier with spare capacity looking for work that fits it.
- A buyer who wants to see what else the market is being asked for before setting their own terms.
- A trading company whose advantage is knowing where a requirement can be met.
Questions
Can I see who posted a request?
Not before they open a conversation with you. A buyer’s identity stays hidden while they are still choosing, which is what makes posting a real requirement safe.
Do I need to be verified to answer?
To answer, yes. Reading is open. Nothing on this platform is listed or acts before verification, and answering a request is acting.
Is a quote here binding?
It states its own validity date, which is one of the fields a quote must carry. What happens after you agree is a contract between the two of you.
